About Us

The Lawyers Business & Property Network (aka The Network or LBPN) is a British Columbia non-profit society that assists lawyers and their clients with business, property and financial transactions. Membership in The Network is open to any Canadian lawyer in good standing.

Listing properties or business opportunities on theNetwork.ca website is available to any member of the public using one of our Network lawyers. List your property with The Network and discover the advantage of working within a national network of lawyers.

Lawyers in the network can offer their clients, in addition to existing on-going legal advice, a comprehensive bundle of one-stop services at the initiation of any legal transaction. Lawyers have always guided clients through negotiations, financing, acquisitions and transfers of every type of property. The Network can provide efficient and economical exposure to a significantly increased number of qualified buyers, sellers and investors around the globe, giving clients more control over the process and outcome of the business endeavour.

LBPN President Dale Janowsky of Kamloops says “this service enables information, which continues to be held by lawyers under strict rules of confidentiality, to be shared through the network at the request of the client. Both clients and their lawyers increasingly recognize that lawyer-to-lawyer contact is underused and has significant value for clients when their information is shared in an organized and professional manner”.

With close to 10,000 lawyers in BC, the potential widespread membership of this network offers members’ clients a professional and cost-effective alternative to the established model. During their career lawyers build up a large number of contacts who could be helpful to other LBPN member clients. This service is a recognition by the Law Society and clients that lawyers can and should be creative by augmenting their customary role with modern technology in a way that enhances their clients’ interest and makes sound legal advice to the client a reality from the very beginning of a transaction.
